My friends think I'm crazy for urinating into the shower while I am waiting for the water to heat up. My point was that it saves water, they think I'm crazy and rightly so. But did you know that each time you flush your toilet, you use between 3-6 gallons of water? For the amount that we pee, that's a lot of wasted water! (Granted, new toilets use 1.5 gallons of water. But that is still a lot of water). I am not saving water for the sake of conservation but  to exercise the discipline of stewardship. Just because we have an abundance of something doesn't mean that we should view the issue flippantly.

Read Deut. 8:18, God says he gives us the ability to create wealth meaning all our wealth really belongs to him. This means there is no such thing as "personal" finance. As Christians, we need to do a better job of integrating God into all our lives and not just on Sundays. This includes being watchful of what we spend our money on and how we use the resources God has graciously blessed us with.

I understand that peeing into the shower is not the most sane thing to do. And for the record I have stopped doing it since it bothers my roomates (I love them all so much. All 6 of them!). Also, to clarify things for everyone. I do flush the toilet when I use it and believe it or not I also wash my hands with soap when I am done. I am just encouraging people to view the resources God has blessed us with from a different perspective.

Peace Nigattzs!

Hey everyone:

KL, Malaysia has been engulfed by this horrible haze the last couple days. Caused by forest burning in Indonesia to clear land for oil palm (a tree that bears a fruit called oil palm....which produces oil that is used in stuff like instant noodles, cookies and cooking oil. It is known as a poor person's oil b/c it is used in many poor countries).

The haze is soooooo bad that air pollution index has reached hazardous levels. We can smell the haze from inside the house! It also means that the government strongly encourages everyone to stay indoors, shut the windows, and refrain from physical activity. My friends came over on Tuesday night, planning to play tennis - my mom wouldn't let me go. Hahaha. In fact, many schools in the whole city have closed for the next few days. Many companies have started handing out masks to their employees for fear that they will get sued for personal damages.

I feel so trapped, and maybe this is what the Egyptians felt like when Moses cursed them w. the 7 plagues. The saddest thing is that the garderners, road cleaners, maids, security guards, and construction workers have to remain outside.

Check out these two links for pictures of the city:

Ok guys, now that you've had some time to answer the 1st part of the riddle. See if you guys can figure out this one. Paul did a good job of providing an excellent answer to the first one, he was exactly right.....it is the middle guy who knows what color his hat is.

Same idea as last time, except there are only 3 guys and there are 2 Black and 3 White hats this time and they can only look forward. Same question: which guy will be able to determine the color of their hat? There is only one answer. Excuse the bad drawing....Christal drew the last one, which was much neater.

here's a riddle... whoever figures it out i will grill for them when i get back. i'm perfecting my method as we speak and i think it's somethin' reaaaaal special.

ok.
4 men. they have to guess which color hat they're wearing - black or white

1.they know that there are only two white hats and two black hats (hence the "B" and "W" under the little stick men).
2.they can only look forward (the direction of the arrow), they can't look backwards (and therefore can't tell what color top hat the guy behind them is wearing), and the first one to shout the answer doesn't get hung.
which one is the first to shout the correct answer..aaaand therefore doesn't get hung? ...all complaints or discrepancies regarding the actual picture are to be blamed on my sister's incompetency using paint.

i realize it takes some turning of the wheels in your head...and quite characteristically my sister gave up immediately. i feel quite proud of the fact that i cracked this baby, so give it a try because i want to GRILL!

i don't have to work or take classes anymore and am going to stay home and keep my sister from going craaaazy. hope you guys are having great summers.

Well, this is most likely going to be my last week at Navis. It's been an amazing internship. I've learned so much, enjoyed myself more than I had imagined and have the confidence that this is something I am capable of doing. The rest of the summer will be spent relaxing with my family, playing lots of tennis w. my sister and dad, and hanging out with friends. Have to laze around a bit before heading back to school.
